The latest reports suggest Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are in talks to join Spider-Man 3.
It looks like Spider-Man 3 will have a far larger scope than what we expected initially, following the exciting news that claims Jamie Foxx is making his return as Electro in the movie, which gave us a tease that the third staple could be following a multiverse storyline.
Since then, the star has shared – and immediately removed – a piece of art on Instagram depicting Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield, indicating it’s going to bring together all three Spider-Men projects, much to the excitement of fans.
A recent report suggests this is precisely what’s gonna happen. FandomWire claims Marvel’s been speaking privately with both Garfield and Maguire to bring them back to Spider-Man 3 alongside the present Spidey Holland. In addition, they provided us with the first glimpse of the plot.

As per their sources, the studio is ready with a screenplay that includes the three wall-slingers teaming up to take on a whole host of villains from their history – including Foxx’s Electro.
With that said, FW reports they haven’t been able to verify this to 100% at the moment, so they want fans to take it with a pinch of salt for now.

It’s worth noting a separate report from Geekosity claims Maguire is in active conversations to portray the spider persona one more time.
All the signs pointed to a live-action Spider-Verse crossover being in development behind the scenes, but we didn’t expect it to happen so soon with Spider-Man 3.

With the massive twist at the end of Far From Home, you can’t rule out the likelihood of a lot of plot getting crammed into the story, which is a little alarming, too, since past Spidey movies were biting more than they could chew to mixed reactions.
However, the idea of Garfield, Maguire, and Holland all coming together is definitely too exciting to pass. With Spider-Man 3 officially beginning production this fall, stay tuned for more updates.
