Benedict Cumberbatch is "Sorry" for Doctor Strange's No-Show in 'WandaVision'

Benedict Cumberbatch had no idea about all the online speculations surrounding Doctor Strange’s cameo in WandaVision.

Benedict Cumberbatch dropped an apology for not appearing as Doctor Strange in the WandaVision series finale.

MCU fans were anticipating Cumberbatch’s Master of the Mystic Arts making a brief cameo in the Disney+ show to set up Elizabeth Olsen‘s involvement as the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).

But it failed to transpire, and talking to Jake Hamilton, the British icon appeared to be oblivious of all the rumors.

Cumberbatch said,

I’m sorry to disappoint you. That would have been fun, I guess. It would have led to Lizzie’s involvement with [Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness], but that’s all to come.

The Sherlock star added,

We’re in the middle of it now – we’ve been filming since before Christmas and it’s very exciting.

WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer was questioned about Sorcerer Supreme‘s no-show in the finale, stating:

It’s one of those things – that’s how the chips fell, that’s how the cookie crumbled.

Meanwhile, Cumberbatch recently lauded popular director Sam Raimi, the man who is helming the highly-anticipated Doctor Strange‘s sequel.

The 44-year-old said,

He’s so collaborative. God, he comes with the baggage of an icon. He’s an incredible force, especially in this genre.

Cumberbatch continued,

But he’s so humble, he’s so nice, he’s so appreciative, you really wanna serve him. And boy, when he’s happy, you know you’ve done something right. He’s so good at getting you there and getting it there.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is expected to hit theatres on 25th March 2022.
