Benedict Cumberbatch had no idea about all the online speculations surrounding Doctor Strange's cameo in WandaVision.
MCU fans were anticipating Cumberbatch's Master of the Mystic Arts making a brief cameo in the Disney+ show to set up Elizabeth Olsen's involvement as the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).
But it failed to transpire, and talking to Jake Hamilton, the British icon appeared to be oblivious of all the rumors.

I'm sorry to disappoint you. That would have been fun, I guess. It would have led to Lizzie's involvement with [Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness], but that's all to come.
The Sherlock star added,
We're in the middle of it now – we've been filming since before Christmas and it's very exciting.
It's one of those things – that's how the chips fell, that's how the cookie crumbled.
The 44-year-old said,
He's so collaborative. God, he comes with the baggage of an icon. He's an incredible force, especially in this genre.
But he's so humble, he's so nice, he's so appreciative, you really wanna serve him. And boy, when he's happy, you know you've done something right. He's so good at getting you there and getting it there.
