Yes, it’s certainly sad news for all the EDM – Electronic music lovers & Daft Punk fans as we’ll no longer be hearing any more new music from the duo.
The split of the biggest-futurist electronic band Draft Punk was announced via YouTube on Feb 22, 2021, with a clip featured from their movie Electroma. The news was later confirmed by their publicist Kathryn Frazier, however, she did not unveil the real reason behind their split.
The band split is a calling to legacy itself as it’s bye-bye to the 28-year-long journey between iconic producers Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Starting from their 1997 debut album Homework to their last album Random Access Memories. As a matter of fact, they showed up in their popular image as masked robots.
