Doctor Who Star John Barrowman Teases Captain Jack Future

Captain Jack Harkness is back in ‘Revolution of the Daleks’.

Doctor Who star John Barrowman recently teased Captain Jack Harkness‘s future as he prepares for his major come back to the forthcoming Christmas special episode ‘Revolution of the Daleks’ that is set to air on New Year’s Day.

In an interview with Radio Times, Barrowman claimed he would return to the show at any moment if they’ve got some hair dye in place.

The actor stated,

I’ve always said if I’m asked I will do it at the drop of a hat – I will happily come back to the TARDIS any time I am asked.

Except I’ll be grey-haired now, so we have to work that into the plot, that something happened to Jack’s hair! Or they’ll dye it – they can sort it out. But I don’t know what the future holds. We have to wait and see.

Barrowman also offered a preview of what we can expect from him in the episode when he was questioned if he might become a modern version of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (Nicholas Courtney) who featured alongside other Doctors.

The 53-year-old joked Jack ‘would love being with many Doctors.’ He added,

He’s not gender-specific, so he doesn’t care what they look like as long as this is the Doctor and the heart is the Doctor.

That’s the one thing that I will say [about the festive special]. With the episode itself, that’s how he recognizes who it is. That’s all I’ll say.

Barrowman previously alerted viewers they would need to get their tissues out during the watch, which is sadly going to be Graham’s (Bradley Walsh) and Ryan’s (Tosin Cole) farewell.

Barrowman said,

There will be some tears shed, there will be some hearts broken. There will be smiles on people’s faces. So you’re gonna get everything… the gamut… the rollercoaster of emotions in this episode, in the special.

Revolution of the Daleks will air on New Year’s Day on BBC One.
