Jennifer Hudson Reckons the Hapless 2019 Film 'Cats' was Misunderstood

Jennifer Hudson wasn’t joking when she claimed she stood by her choice to star in the ill-fated “Cats” film adaptation in 2019.

Jennifer Hudson looked stunning in a bright yellow gown as she arrived in New York City for her performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on 17th August.

The 39-year-old actress and singer has been touring New York to promote her new film, Respect (2021), and even stopped by a painting depicting her as Aretha Franklin.

Jennifer also talked about one of her other films, Cats (2019), in another interview with Total Film, which received a lot of negative reaction from fans when it was released during the 2019 festive season.

When asked about the movie, she admitted to the interviewer:

You know what? I think it was a bit overwhelming. It’s unfortunate that it was misunderstood. I think later down the line, people will see it differently. But it is something I am still very proud of and grateful to have been a part of.

Jennifer then claimed that her role in the film encouraged her to buy two cats of her own, which she named after the feline characters in the film. Grizabella, her own character, and Macavity, played by Idris Elba, are the two.
