John Cena Responds to Dave Bautista’s Remarks About Not Wanting to Be Co-stars in Big Screens

John Cena Responds to Dave Bautista's Remarks About Not Wanting to Be Co-stars in Big Screens

Dave Bautista previously stated how he would not want to star in a movie together with fellow WWE star John Cena, who now responds in a classy manner.

WWE beef, it appears, does not end in the ring. Earlier in the year, a fan proposed that professional wrestling stars John Cena, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Dave Bautista—all of whom have achieved success as actors—feature in a film together.

Bautista was pretty swift to let people know what he felt about the suggestion, tweeting, “Nah, I’m good!!”

He explained two days later by uploading a collage of his cinematic roles, saying:

I figured a visual reference might help. I’d just prefer not to be lumped in. Nothing personal.

Now, in the latest video interview, John Cena was asked about Bautista’s remarks.

Cena talked at length about Bautista’s acting experience in a broad interview that touches everything from the possibility of Cena joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe to his ominous Instagram account.

The former WWE champion said,

I’m super sad about that because Dave Bautista is an unbelievably gifted actor. He’s done some amazing work. But I think when someone makes a statement like that, I think the important thing is to try and look at things from their perspective. Dave has worked so hard on his craft. And he is so dedicated to his characters. And really wants to put forth a body of work that gives him his own identity. I 100 percent understand that. Dave is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and one of the most generous guys you’ll ever meet.

John Cena added,

I don’t have any beef with Dave and I really genuinely think Dave doesn’t have any beef with me. He really just wants to be identified and recognized for his work. And I cannot fault him for that. I applaud him for it. To be brave enough to say something like that kind of allows him to go forth on his own and I appreciate that.

It’s a fine response from Cena, who added some much-needed perspective to their alleged feud. Sometimes you just have to do your own stuff! We’re delighted Cena understands this.
