Lili Reinhart has been on the highlight not just due to her weight gain but also because of how her body image was affecting her mental health. With her body changing ever since quarantine, fans have been concerned about her health as well as her body. While many fans wonder if Lili is pregnant as seen in her new movie and Instagram upload, the rest are curious to know the whole story behind Lili Reinhart’s weight gain.

Lili Reinhart acknowledged on Instagram (@lilireinhart) that she has been “struggling with obsessive thoughts” about her weight and that it is difficult for her to view her body with “love instead of condemnation.”

The 25-year-old actress posted a series of Instagram posts about body image and mental health, confessing that being a part of the “so obsessed with women’s bodies” industry of Hollywood has had a bigger influence on her than she anticipated.

The actress remarked that she occasionally feels as though her body has ‘betrayed’ her by aging because it no longer resembles the woman she was at age 20. In the heartfelt post, Lili remarked,

I know I’m not alone in this toxic way of thinking about my body.

She also revealed how she used to pull her skin back to see how she should actually look without her fat and extra skin. In an interview with People, Reinhart asserted,

I’ve felt very insecure due to the expectation that people have for women on TV, what they should look like. But I have come to terms with my body and that I’m not the kind of person you would see walking on a runway during fashion week. I have bigger boobs, I have cellulite on my thighs/butt, and my stomach sticks out rather than curves in.

Taking her opinions to Twitter as well, Lili Reinhart posted a status pouring out how she felt insecure because of her fellow cast member’s physique. She wrote,

Actually, not everyone on this show is perfectly chiseled. And even I feel intimidated by the physique of my surrounding cast mates sometimes when I have to do bra/underwear scenes. I’ve felt very insecure due to the expectation that people have for women on tv, what they should look like.

The actress has repeatedly admitted to having body dysmorphia, a condition made worse by haters who take offense at her for discussing her issues. She also revealed how comments from the public made her mental health worse and only fueled her insecurities about weight gain and her body image. Lili sadly said,

Feeling really disheartened by the fact that so many people are saying ‘you’re skinny so shut up about embracing [sic] your body.’ As if my body dysmorphia is irrelevant because of how I look to some people. I’m either not curvy enough or not skinny enough to feel insecure.

Also keeping her bio as “this is a safe space for body positivity and mental health awareness/acceptance 🪷” Lili Reinhart is on her path to accepting her body along with promoting self-love and acceptance through her platform. The actress, who was given a depression diagnosis when she was just 14 years old, also makes a point of being upfront about her mental health. In fact, she once said that getting her Riverdale part put an end to “the worst depression I had ever experienced.”

Looking at Lili Reinhart’s before and after pictures, her weight gain can’t be termed as obese or unflattering though she has put on some pounds.
