Matt Smith Reveals the Prop He Kept After Leaving Doctor Who

Doctor Who fan-favorite Matt Smith reveals the prop he kept from the BBC One show.

The 11th Doctor Matt Smith has disclosed the prop he retained from the popular British series.

For three years from 2010 onwards, the actor played the iconic Time Lord, and he recently stated he still has a sonic screwdriver as well as his outfits from the program.

The Doctor uses the super device to pick locks, hack into machines, and protect himself from threats – it’s a fairly useful tool to carry around.

Matt told Port Magazine,

I’ve got the sonic screwdriver. They gave me a little box painted like the TARDIS and my costumes.

As for whether he misses the BBC One show, Smith added:

Of course, you miss Doctor Who – it’s the best job in the world, but it’s challenging and taxing as well. That’s why people often get to three or four years before they throw the towel in.

Matt’s remarks come after former companion star Billie Piper revealed the confounding reason she would not reprise her role as Rose Tyler.

In the meantime, Christopher Eccleston, who will reclaim his part as the 9th Doctor in a Big Finish audio adventure series beginning next month, recently noted why he ignores show canon.

Doctor Who season 13 is expected to premiere in the latter half of 2021.
