Captain America 4 starring Anthony Mackie is officially confirmed by Marvel Studios. Now the question remains, will Sebastian Stan reprise his role as Winter Soldier in the upcoming film?
This week, it was officially announced that Anthony Mackie would reprise his role as Captain America in the fourth film in the Cap franchise, and according to sources, the other half of Disney+‘s The Falcon and Winter Soldier star, too, will be making his return.
Sebastian Stan aka Winter Soldier has joined the cast of the forthcoming Captain America 4, resuming his role as Bucky Barnes, according to one of Giant Freakin Robot‘s trustworthy sources.
Given the route that these two main characters have followed all through the Disney+ series, this isn’t entirely surprising.

Stan made a post on social media welcoming Mackie’s debut as Captain America on the big screen, but now, merely hours later, it appears he has news of his own.
Outside of his uncredited appearance in Black Panther (2018), this will be Mackie’s fifth appearance in a Marvel movie, but it is unclear how significant a role his on-screen persona will take in the motion picture this time.

Bucky Barnes made his debut villain outing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and since then, the character has evolved from antagonist to hero and friend to the Avengers.
Given his progression in the MCU and the Disney+ show in which he had a big role, it stands to reason that he will complete the saga of Bucky Barnes in the future Captain America feature.
Aside from these two casts, little is known about Captain America 4‘s storyline or the schedule for when filming will begin.
