The Hargreeves siblings could see their powers elevated in season 3.
The highly anticipated third season of The Umbrella Academy looks likely to enhance the abilities of the Hargreeves siblings.
The Netflix show, based on the comic series of the same name, was released in 2019 and delivered a fresh perspective at the superhero genre.
The debut season received appreciation from fans and critics alike, and the series was renewed for season 2, which dropped on the streaming platform on 31st July 2020.
Since the siblings struggled to stop the doomsday in season 1, the second season again placed them in the firing line of a global catastrophe.
The siblings arrived in the 1960s, and their involvement set off a series of actions, escalating to a nuclear war that would ultimately wreck the world. Season 2 was full of twists and turns, but it also featured enhancements of some of the Hargreeves’ abilities.

Ben discovered how to possess Klaus, Diego demonstrated incredible telekinetic powers, and Five started to command his time travel expertise. And despite these changes, season 3 looks set to inflate the abilities of the Umbrella Academy.
During an interview with The Wrap, creator Steve Blackman hinted at the prospect of The Umbrella Academy season 3 raising the bar even higher when it comes to the powers of the siblings.
They were mentored ever since they were they kids by Reginald Hargreeves, but their training ended after Ben’s passing. Blackman suggested the next season of the series will see Hargreeves’ children eventually resume training and realize they’re even more powerful while they’re together.
They’re all sort of growing up. like to think as we go forward that their powers are also evolving. They’re learning new things. They were trained until they were 14 or 15 by a very dysfunctional dad but then the family blew apart before they could finish their training. … They might even discover in the future that their powers are stronger when they’re together.
The extension of the Hargreeves’ capabilities is a logical next move for The Umbrella Academy to explore, and Blackman’s teaser about what could follow is quite fascinating. However, Netflix is yet to renew the show for season 3, and it’s not officially confirmed whether Blackman will receive an opportunity to further the plot.

If he does, it sounds like he’s got a good idea of where he’s going to take the story, particularly following the final twist of season 2, therefore a boost in the abilities of the Hargreeves siblings could work wonders.
Since most superhero storylines see the powers of heroes evolve in some way over time, the likelihood that this may happen in the third season of The Umbrella Academy is not that surprising.
Nevertheless, Blackman’s latest hint the siblings could potentially be even more mighty together is interesting. This might imply in a figurative way that their combined forces are stronger together than when they are separated, but it’s not too far-fetched to imagine they are genuinely stronger while they are together.
Their enigmatic births might bind them in such a way that their superpowers would take a leap while they’re in each other’s presence. In fact, whenever the entire family was together in the past, the scales of dominance was pretty high, and by the looks of things, Blackman’s already put the pieces in place.
It remains to be seen how this teaser works out, but there’s a decent chance the siblings may discover ways to unleash new powers within them. And now that Lila, too, is a part of the equation, it’s going to be interesting to see how the Umbrella Academy goes about their business in season 3.
