American actor William McChord Hurt was born on March 20 in Washington, D.C, to Claire Isabel (McGill) and Alfred McChord Hurt, both of whom worked for the State Department. He studied at the Juilliard School and began acting on stage in the 1970s. Hurt made his screen debut in Ken Russell‘s science-fiction thriller Altered States, released in 1980. He was also nominated for a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year for his performance in altered states. In 1981 he played a leading role in the neo-noir Body Heat, with Kathleen Turner.
Although he started his career with Jake’s character in tv series named Kojak in 1997, before his debut science fiction film, he asserted that he had completed two series and one miniseries. Following the success of Altered Stated, he began acting in a number of films in which he played the lead part.
William completed his schooling at Middlesex school. Willam’s passion for theater and acting dates all the way back to his school days when he was vice president of the dramatics club and played the lead part in a school production. As a prediction, he was graduated from high school around 1968. Hurt went to Tufts University to study religion before deciding to pursue acting at the Juilliard School.

Hurt is no longer with us, having passed away on March 13, 2022, at the age of 71. In May 2018, Hurt was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer, which had spread to his bones. His son Alexander Hurt announced his death. He died from complications of the disease at his home in Portland, Oregon on Sunday. He paused in the middle of his Pantheon filmmaking series. William was undergoing standard treatment with SEF Chemo, which cost around $16,000.
