Jazz Jennings, 21, confesses that her mental health concern lead to binge eating in a video posted on TLC’s Youtube account. “Two years ago, I was on my way to one of the best universities in the world,” Jazz says in the teaser, “but I was dealing tremendously with mental health concerns.” Jazz wrote at the time that some of her medications cause her hunger to spike. And this, combined with binge eating, resulted in her accumulating nearly 100 pounds heavier in less than two years.

The reality TV star shared a comparing picture of herself on Instagram and said, “With all this extra weight, I can’t do so many things with my body that I used to be able to do.” Jazz claims that her weight makes it difficult for her to be active and that the 21-year-old is not receiving positive feedback from her family.

“I get fat-shame from my family,” she admits, It humiliates me tremendously.” “I believe I have the capacity inside me to lose the weight, and I intend to share my progress with all of you,” the 21-year old said.

The LGTB rights activist also said, “I’ve been saying I’m ready to alter my ways; I’ve been saying I’m ready to turn over a new leaf, but I’m out of trees now.” When it comes to my health and body, I’m ready to take charge and make great changes.”
