Will Zazie Beetz Reprise Her Role as Domino in Deadpool 3?

Zazie Beetz’s future as Domino in the Deadpool franchise is in doubt ever since Disney acquired Fox in 2019 and Deadpool officially became a part of the MCU.

Deadpool 3 is undoubtedly making its way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but while we’re aware that Ryan Reynolds will be introducing the R-rated version of the Regenerating Degenerate into the Disney franchise, what does this mean for Deadpool‘s supporting cast members?

In a recent interview, Zazie Beetz spoke with Collider where she talked about Amazon Prime‘s Invincible as well as the future of Domino in the MCU.

Looks like somebody needs to drop the word to Kevin Feige ASAP. Beetz said,

No, I haven’t [heard about Domino’s return]. I would love to revive the role. That was always in the world of what was potentially going to happen. I haven’t had any specific conversations around it. But I’m interested.

The actress added,

Not only would I love to revive the role, I would love to figure out a way to make a Domino movie or something like that. We’ll see what happens, but I haven’t had any personal conversations.

While it’s good to learn that Domino was definitely going to be part of whichever direction Deadpool 3 might have followed prior to the Disney/Fox merger in 2019, it’s hard to know how much the movie has altered in the aftermath.

Back at the tail end of 2020, Disney provided a new script for TV producers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin, and merely the fact that two Bob’s Burgers executives are handed the keys to Deadpool indicates there’s going to be a somewhat different feel in the threequel.

Whatever the route they decide to take, it’s worth noting Beetz has impressed in nearly every project she’s performed since 2015, so introducing Domino to the MCU feels like a no-brainer.

Beetz was the first actress to play a live-action interpretation of the character brought to life by Rob Liefeld in 1992. Her powers come through mutation, and her entire ability is she gets extremely lucky all the time. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the character’s future in the MCU.

Meanwhile, the upcoming animated superhero drama Invincible starring Zazie Beetz premieres on Amazon Prime Video on 26th March 2021.
