Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Reveals Being Mistaken for a Girl During Childhood

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson says he was often mistaken for a girl when he was growing up. The Hollywood star now shares his experiences.

People sometimes mistook Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for a little girl when he was younger, according to the former WWE star. People were always perplexed by his “soft features” as a teen, as per Johnson, who celebrated his 49th birthday this week.

Speaking with Today, the Hobbs & Shaw star said:

I would say between the ages of 7 and 11, people thought that I was a little girl because I had really soft features and I had really soft Afro hair.

Johnson, the son of professional wrestler Rocky Johnson, traveled around so often as a kid that by the time he was in high school, he had attended 13 different colleges. He mentioned an unforgettable experience on the school bus during his first day in Grade 5.

Johnson said,

I sit down next to a kid, and within 60 seconds, he goes, ‘Can I ask you something?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ He goes, ‘Are you a boy or a girl?’

The Hollywood heavyweight — who recently spent $27.8 million on a Beverly Hills mansion — has been answering questions regarding a potential bid for the White House.

In April, a Piplsay poll which was responded to by over 30,000 American citizens discovered that 46% of participants would actually vote for the Central Intelligence star for president.

After the results of the poll released, Johnson stated:

Not sure our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack-wearing guy joining their club.

The Rock added,

But if it ever happens it’d be my honor to serve the people.

Speaking with Geist, Johnson claimed he’d be up for the role of President if that’s what the people want.
