Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is Reportedly a Big Fan of Henry Cavill’s Superman

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is reportedly a massive fan of Henry Cavill’s Superman. Turns out we’re not alone.

For reasons that make very little sense, Warner Bros. and DC Films seemed to rapidly lose intrigue in Henry Cavill‘s Superman. The actor was cast as the famous comic book superhero in January 2011, but in the ensuing decade, he’s starred in only one solo film.

Later, he depicted the subservient role to Ben Affleck‘s Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and spent the bulk of both Justice League films dead before being revived in time for the final sequence.

It’s an odd chain of events, to say the least, particularly after Man of Steel opted to launch the entire DC Extended Universe as we know it with a strong reboot that grossed $668 million worldwide.

There are lots of Superman tales to be told on the silver screen; it’s just that people upstairs aren’t eager to tell them, despite the fact that both Matthew Vaughn and Christopher McQuarrie have flirted with the notion at different points.

New reports, however, suggest Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a huge fan of Cavill’s Man of Steel, and there are already many pieces in place that would allow the pair to come face to face in a potential blockbuster.

Just a week ago, Black Adam began filming, and the titular character is more than a challenge for the last son of Krypton in terms of powers, so a clash between the two would be undoubtedly spectacular.

As you might be well aware, Black Adam is also the arch-nemesis of Shazam!, which ended with a Superman cameo, albeit without Cavill taking the mantle. However, it did create a sort of connection, at the very least.

Most notably, Johnson’s Seven Bucks production company is one of the firms working in the Shazam! sequel Fury of the Gods (2023) and Black Adam (2022), with co-founder Dany Garcia also serving as Cavill’s manager.

Furthermore, The Rock is known for getting what he desires, and if he wishes to face off against Superman, you can count on him to make it possible.
