Peaky Blinders is reintroducing a major character who was last seen in the fourth season.

Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby, was recently spotted shooting scenes with Edwards.

Esme is seen in the photos chasing her brother-in-law Tommy out of a cemetery after a heated argument. Another photo shows Tommy looking at a grave.

Esme’s surprise appearance follows her departure from the show at the conclusion of the fourth season due to the death of her partner, John Shelby (Joe Cole).

The Mafia family murdered John in retaliation for the Peaky Blinders, with Esme stealing John’s rings and fleeing with her kids shortly after.

Peaky Blinders producer Steven Knight recently talked about the show’s final season, saying:

We find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.

Peaky Blinders season 6 is expected to release in in late 2021 or early 2022.
