What Does the Future Hold for Sharon Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier revealed Sharon Carter’s new role in the MCU, but what does the future hold for her?

The Falcon and the Winter Solider‘s finale aired last week, and it was a success, much to the joy of fans.

The grand finale not only changed how Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) are viewed in the MCU, but it also revealed some twists.

Most notably, Sharon Carter‘s (Emily VanCamp) comeback entangled loose ends all over the place, and her new position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is something nobody saw coming.

When the season finale, “One World, One People,” dropped on the streaming platform, the whole story rose to prominence. As Sharon’s dubious deals behind the scenes became apparent, the episode focused on her.

Sharon turned out to be the dreaded Power Broker who is chasing Karli Morgenthau. The ousted CIA agent has built an empire in Madripoor, and the film’s conclusion solidifies her reputation as an MCU villain.

As you would expect, Sharon is still bitter about how she was treated after Captain America: Civil War (2016). Since she took Captain America’s side in the fight against the government, Sharon was disparaged by her nation, and she was forced to leave on her own from then on.

With no Avengers eager to defend her case, Sharon resorted to living in the shadows, where she accrued a fortune as the Power Broker. Sharon’s real identity reveals that she only assisted Sam and Bucky for her own gain, and she eventually got them.

Sharon is acquitted and returns to her old CIA position in The Falcon and the Winter Solider‘s conclusion. She happily obliges with the offer, but only because of the knowledge she’ll gain on the role.

Needless to say, Sharon Carter is the Power Broker above anything else, and the series concluded with Sharon informing a contact that she’ll have plenty of classified info to sell soon.

Carter may no longer be able to market Super-Soldier serum, but as far as trading secrets for money is concerned, she is likely to be unparalleled soon.

Sharon’s current role as a Marvel villain is a brave move that will no doubt be addressed further in the near future. Captain America 4 is reportedly in development at Marvel Studios, and it will have Sam carry the shield on the silver screen.

Meanwhile, fans shouldn’t count on the Power Broker to depart anytime soon because Sam could be shouldered the responsibility of dealing with Sharon Carter’s growing empire.
