Delivering a monologue, Kelly Clarkson said:

As you probably know, 2020 has brought a lot of change also to my personal life. Definitely didn’t see anything coming that came.

The singer admitted,

What I am dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart — it involves a lot of little hearts. We have four kids. And divorce is never easy. We are both from divorced families, so we know the best thing here is to protect our children and their little hearts.

Clarkson is usually pretty open on the show, but this time it will be slightly different.

In this case, I will talk a little bit here and there are about how it affects me personally but I probably won’t go too far into it because I am a mama bear and my kids come first. Although I do love you all.

She also tackled fans’ queries about her, revealing how everyone keeps wondering if she’s all right.

The answer is yes… I know a lot of you at home unfortunately have probably been through it — either as a kid or as yourself and your own relationship

Clarkson continued,

I feel you. It is a bad connection to have with people, but I will say this though: When I got upset when I was a kid, I had a problem saying how I felt. My mom told me to start writing. That’s actually how I get my feelings out. I probably won’t speak about it too much but you will definitely hear it musically.

She said sharing her emotions through music is how she ended up pursuing a career as a songwriter since songs have always been her outlet to get through adversities in life. Therefore, she devoted the first week to melodies, musicians, and how she believes music cures us all.

Back in June, Clarkson filed for divorce from music manager Brandon Blackstock, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple had tied the knot in October 2013 and shared two children: daughter River Rose, 6, and son Remington Alexander, 4. Besides, he’s a father to 13-year-old son Seth and 18-year-old daughter Savanna from a previous marriage.

Initially, the pair was quarantining at their Montana ranch in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, where Clarkson filmed remote episodes of her Kelly Clarkson Show at the end of the first season.

Speaking to Sunday Today a couple of weeks ago, Kelly labeled her life “a little bit of a dumpster.” She admitted the past two months had been pretty rough.
