New on Disney Plus on 7 May 2021 – Good News for Wander Over Yonder Fans!

While Disney Plus is not at the point in their run where a daily drop of original or licensed property is possible, similar to Netflix. They are still making a point of dropping new and old content every week on Friday. On 7 May 2021, beloved Disney channel and XD series Wander Over Yonder is coming, along with a classic movie and continuation of current hit dramas.

With a target to reach over 350 million subscribers by 2024 and spending $16 billion in original content for streaming platform alone, Disney Plus is letting everyone know, they are not playing around. It won’t be long before the streaming service is nipping at the heels of Netflix for the crown of streaming charm. Paraphrasing Thanos here, Disney Plus is inevitable so you might as well get used to the platform that is still in its infancy.

There is still a lack of content on the streaming platform, a wide variety of selection ranging from mystery to billion dollar blockbuster is missing. But with each passing weeks the library is increasing and on 7 May 2021, fans will be delighted to hear, some beloved animated shows and live action drama are coming to the platform.

What’s On Disney Plus 7 May 2021?

The plan for Disney Plus is to release over 100 original content on the platform per year and slowly they are stepping up the game. This week on 7 May 2021 we will have two seasons of animated series from 2013, a live action movie that is criminally under seen. We are also getting further episodes of hit shows currently streaming on the platform. So, here is everything you can stream this week.

Wander Over Yonder Seasons 1 & 2

Beloved Disney Channel and Disney XD show is coming to Disney Plus on 7 May 2021. You will be able to stream both seasons of the critically acclaimed animated series. When the show ended after the second season, there was a massive outcry among fans and even a change.org petition to get the channel to order further seasons of the show but nothing happened.

But for fans of the show Wander Over Yonder being available on Disney Plus is a good sign for the future as well as enjoying the space traveling show and its fun filled two seasons. All 43 episodes will be made available on Friday.

“The series follows Wander, a nomadic and overly-optimistic intergalactic traveller and his best friend and steed, Sylvia the Zbornak, as they travel from planet to planet helping people to have fun and live free, despite the continuing encroachment of Lord Hater, one of the most powerful villains in the galaxy, and his army of Watchdogs,” the description read.

In the second season the story of the show is more structured as a overarching story with a new villain is introduced. Lord Dominator is a fun villain and posed a darker threat to Wander and Sylvia. And you will be able to relive it all this week on Disney Plus.

Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken

This week’s live action classic on Disney Plus is a 1993 film directed by Steve Miner called Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken. Based on the memoir A Girl and Five Brave Horses by Sonora Webster Carver, the film was a critical success in the 90s and made over $7 million at the box office.

Starring Gabrielle Anwar the movie was lost to the annals of movie history but the classic film is finally getting its due with a release on Disney Plus, nearly three decades after its initial release.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

The integration of Marvel-Fox properties is on-going and this week Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer will be added to Disney Plus. The sequel to the moderately successful but critically panned series will take its place among other MCU and Fox/Marvel projects on 7 May 2021.

Big Shot – Episode 104 “Great in the Living Room”

In the John Stamos starer Big Shot, Coach Marvyn Korn is trying to redeem his career with a successful stint at a high school girl’s basketball program. The show has received good critical reception with fans also slowly being taken away by the charm of the sports drama.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers has been a charming continuation of the nearly three decade old franchise. The Don’t Bothers are cut from the same cloth as the original Ducks were and after a nostalgic episode with old cast members returning to the ice, we are back to the team’s quest to be a happy program.

Evan wants to get on the ice and play hockey with his friends, but after his near betrayal, the team is not in a trusting mood. So, Evan will need to win back the trust of the team if they are to win all of their remaining games and meet Ducks at the State Championship game.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Episode 102

Star Wars: The Bad Batch was released on 4 May 2021, on the occasion of Star Wars day. And starting from 7 May 2021 we will be getting a new episode of Bad Batch every Friday.
