While the first movie of the Star Wars franchise, A New Hope, was released on 25 May, fans have taken to the day 21 days earlier as a celebration of the franchise. The usual greeting on the day is May the 4th be with you, which is a play on the often repeated line in the movies, “May the Force be with you.” So, religiously fans have taken the day as a way to pay tribute to the beloved franchise.

With Disney Plus now off and running with more than 100+ million subscribers and hours of content, they are going full on for the day of celebration with few unique releases. You can stream all the content on the streaming platform and here is everything you have to look forward to.

May 4th Celebration on Disney Plus

The highly anticipated Star Wars: The Bad Batch will kick off the celebrations. The characters from another hit animated series, Clone Wars, are coming together for their own show much to the excitement of fans. Also The Force Awakens From Its Nap will be a hilarious few minutes for you to spend your morning with, a crossover between The Simpsons and Star Wars. Star Wars: The Bad Batch

In the continuation of story for characters introduced in the critically acclaimed Clone Wars series come The Bad Batch. A group of experimental clone who are elite fighters and are tired from their time in the Clone Wars. With a rapidly changing world surrounding them and trying to keep together as a team, the uniquely skilled soldiers battle mercenaries, other dangers while trying to “stay afloat and find new purpose.”

If the fan reaction to the inclusion of the crew in Star Wars Rebels is a gauge of interest for fans, then Bad Batch has the potential to become a massive hit for the streaming platform. The first episode will be made available on 4 May 2021.

The Force Awaken From Its Nap – Crossover Short Starring Maggie Simpson

While the premiere of Bad Batch is part of a continuing story that will play out over two months, a funny way to start your day on Star Wars day would be The Force Awakens From Its Nap, a short film starring Maggie Simpson of the beloved Fox animation hit The Simpsons.

“In a daycare far, far away… but still in Springfield, Maggie is on an epic quest for her stolen pacifier. Her adventure brings her face-to-face with young Padawans, Sith Lords, familiar droids, Rebel scum, and an ultimate battle against the dark side, in this original short celebrating the Star Wars galaxy,” the release from Disney Plus read.
