'The Big Bang Theory' Star Melissa Raunch to Lead in Reboot Sitcom 'Night Court'

Melissa Rauch is set to play a leading role of a judge on a rebooted legal sitcom called Night Court.

Melissa Rauch, who previously appeared on The Big Bang Theory, is returning to television with a new starring role. Night Court, a legal sitcom, is getting a revival, and the actress is set to star in it.

The story was first reported by Deadline, which also confirmed that original star John Larroquette would reprise his role as Reinhold Daniel Fielding Elmore.

Between January 4, 1984, to May 31, 1992, NBC broadcasted Night Court for nine seasons. It focused on Harry Anderson‘s unconventional judge Harold ‘Harry’ T Stone‘s night sessions at a Manhattan local court.

Abby Stone – Harry’s daughter – is the unrelenting optimistic judge (played by Rauch), who steps in her late dad’s legacy in trying to bring harmony to the turmoil of the court’s late shift. Rauch is also serving as the executive producer for the reboot.

Dan Rubin wrote the revived Night Court, which will air on NBC if the pilot episode is picked up for a full season.

After portraying Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz for a decade on the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory (2009-2019), this project signals Rauch’s big TV comeback in a leading role.

Meanwhile, her former co-star Kaley Cuoco (Penny) has gone to star in a leading role on The Flight Attendant on HBO Max. After a successful debut season, the show got renewed for season 2.
