Is Reality TV to Blame for Kathy Wakile and Melissa Gorga Falling Out?

Kathy Wakile reveals the reason she and Melissa Gorga fell out.

Kathy Wakile and Melissa Gorga are no longer speaking with each other, and Kathy claims reality TV is at fault for creating friction in their relationship.

On Life After Bravo, Wakile explained:

[Reality TV] is a small part in your life, and you live your life and whatever gets aired, gets aired and you’re still living your life.

She added,

But, for certain people, people live in that bubble and they don’t realize that there’s a whole world outside of the bubble. It’s sad that that happens, but yeah; I stepped out of the bubble.

Wakile also said when she became a part of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) for the third season in 2011, her relationships with both Gorga and Teresa Giudice were “great.”

However, Gorga and Giudice’s friendship was as low as it could get, which often placed Wakile in an uncomfortable spot.

The reality star, 55, recalled,

I thought, ‘Sure, well, we may have some words, but we’ll be able to resolve it.’ We never really had a real disagreement before.

Despite everything, Wakile never imagined the three of them would stop being on speaking terms completely.

She continued,

I never went on thinking that I was going to be like, on a side, you know? It was never supposed to be a side because we were one family.

Kathy is first cousins with 48-year-old Guidice as well as her brother, Joe Gorga, who is in a marital relationship with 41-year-old Melissa.

Wakile does not carry any sort of relationship with Melissa or Giudice at the moment, but she still wishes them the best.

Kathy said,

I wish them well, but I’ve moved on. You try to do the best you can in a relationship and that happens in real life. That happens without reality TV taking a part in it.

Despite her well-wishes, however, there’s no denying the rift in the family is far too deep.
