Nick Fury star Samuel L. Jackson is reportedly returning for another Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, but which one is it going to be?
Many industry experts and analysts were surprised to learn that Samuel L. Jackson had agreed on an incredible nine-picture deal with Marvel Studios to play Nick Fury throughout the entire franchise.
This was particularly because the superhero feature was just one film old at the time and his role in Iron Man (2008) was limited to a fan-baiting cameo after the credits.

However, following the premiere of the animated show What If…? this summer and production on Secret Invasion beginning at the end of the year, the famous actor will wear the eye patch for the 13th time.
This is assuming he doesn’t appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) or The Marvels (2022) before then, which is still a genuine possibility given that he performed significant supporting roles in both films.

Jackson’s previous appearances have varied from second standing behind Brie Larson in Captain Marvel to notable brief appearances in Avengers: Endgame (2019), but Far From Home‘s second dart seemed to indicate that he’ll have a much greater recurring role in Phase Four now that he’s placed himself in deep space, and will even head his own TV series for added fun.
Indeed, we’ve learned this week from reliable sources that the 72-year-old icon will appear in Anthony Mackie‘s Captain America 4 (yet to get a release date) to drop one of his signature knowledge spills.
While Nick Fury didn’t appear in Civil War (2016), he did make an appearance at the end of The First Avenger (2011) and played a significant role in The Winter Soldier (2014).

Therefore, with Sam Wilson now confirmed as the MCU‘s new Captain America, Jackson’s character would undoubtedly be curious to see if the former Falcon possesses the necessary skillset to be a successor to Steve Rogers.
