Director James Gunn Hypes Up 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3'

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn claims the galaxy might not be big enough for all the magic that’s about to ensue.

Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn has raised anticipation for the Marvel threequel by suggesting on Twitter that the film would be massive.

After the launch of new trailers Black Widow and Loki over the weekend, one fan regretted the lack of new Guardians material and asked Gunn to provide us something about Guardians of the Galaxy – and the director did not fail to deliver.

He replied,

Our designers & visual development geniuses are busy creating new, fantastic designs of other worlds & alien beings. I’m not sure the galaxy is big enough for all this magic. This. One. Is. Huge. I’m excited.

While we don’t carry more specific information about the film following this statement, it has strengthened our expectations that it will contain brand new planets and species and be truly epic.

We won’t witness the next Guardians film until 2023, but it does sound promising and something that will no doubt be worth the wait.

The Guardians of the Galaxy will see the return of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord/Peter Quill, Dave Bautista as Drax, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Karen Gillan as Nebula.

Zoe Saldana as Gamora is also expected to appear but in the form of the character featured in Avengers: Endgame (2019), who arrives from another timeline and as a result shares no past with the Guardians.

Michael Rooker‘s Yondu, unfortunately, will not be marking his return, with Gunn previously confirming that Peter’s “daddy” won’t be coming back after his heartbreaking closing scene in Guardians 2.

Fortunately, we’ll be able to watch the Guardians in action again before their third film hits theatres, as a few of them will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) after Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor agreed to join the Guardians on their ship at the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 does not have an official release date yet.
