Dafne Keen played the role of Laura/X-23 on Logan (2017).
His Dark Materials actress Dafne Keen said she’s “100% hopeful” that she would be able to play her part as Laura/X-23 in a potential Marvel film.
Before the 20th Century Fox was purchased by Disney – and subsequently, the rights to the X-Men universe – the actress starred in the widely lauded superhero movie Logan.
In it, she portrayed an intimidating, teenage mutant who, for unknown reasons, possesses adamantium claws just like Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine.
The character received an incredible amount of love, but fans were concerned about her future, considering the House of Mouse is not a studio that is especially renowned for making R-rated movies. Having said that, Keen is quite keen and looking forward to reprising her role.

Speaking with Looper, the young actress said:
I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high in case it doesn’t happen. But I really do hope it does because I loved playing Laura. She holds a very special place in my heart and she’s an incredible character.
Keen went on to suggest Disney and Marvel Studios are going forward with the third installment in the Deadpool franchise, two chapters of which were published under a 15 certificate inside the UK, making her feel more positive about the prospect of a Logan-adjacent arc in the sequel.
Dafne concluded,
To be fair, the whole Deadpool 3 situation really, really made me happy. Obviously when Disney bought Fox, I suspected they weren’t going to do any more R-rated films, but them greenlighting Deadpool is a great sign for other R-rated movies.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if we’ll witness Laura/X-23 in the MCU in the near future.
