Jerry Nadler’s Weight Loss & Diet Plan: How Much Weight Did He Lose?
Jerry Nadler (@repjerrynadler) tried several times to live a healthier lifestyle in order to lose weight, but his vain attempts to overcome his obesity problems failed. The weight issue was becoming a source of concern for his safety and well-being, as well as a threat to his survival.
To save his own life, he had to take a drastic weight loss journey. Jerry had stomach reduction surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan in August 2002. Jerry weighed 338 pounds before the surgery. And, following the surgery, Jerry, who is 75 years old, began to lose weight, eventually losing 61 pounds.
Meanwhile, Jerry Nadler was so overweight that he had given up riding the subway to avoid having to climb the stairs. He surprised himself after the weight loss surgery by walking 40 blocks from his district office in lower Manhattan to Penn Station. He used to avoid even walking a few blocks, so this is quite impressive.
However, Jerry’s decision to undergo weight loss surgery was not ideal due to the risks involved, but he needed to take drastic action because his health was deteriorating. During one of their public battles, Donald Trump called him fat Jerry, and Democratic aides mocked his weight in 2016. Ann Coulter mocked Nadler’s physical appearance on Twitter in 2019.
In addition, Jerry Nadler stated that he has had to rapidly progress his eating routine since the surgery because overeating makes him feel quite uncomfortable. He used to eat a salad, a bowl of onion soup, a 14-ounce rib-eye steak with vegetables, bread and butter, fries, and a dessert every day, all washed down with diet Coke.
Jerry had to drastically alter his eating habits because eating too much makes him extremely uncomfortable. He would also eat Oreo cookies, Fig Newtons, Frankfurters, and even tuna salad and chicken salad sandwiches on a regular basis. He also stays physically active to supplement his diet, which is why he has been able to maintain his weight for so long.
