Arie Luyendyk revealed he tested positive for COVID-19.
The former Bachelor Nation alum shared a clip on his Instagram Stories revealing he had been infected with COVID-19 “nine days ago,” adding that the process was “rough” for both him and his wife, Lauren Burnham.
Luyendyk Jr. says,
Many of you have been wondering why we haven’t done Bachelor Brunch, why we’ve been so absent on social media, and why I’m sitting like 25 feet away from the girls. It’s ’cause I actually tested positive for COVID. Tomorrow, I get to go in and see if I’m clear.
It’s been rough. I gotta say, it’s not been easy being separated.
As per Luyendyk Jr., he’s been staying “on the other side of the house” as he isolates from Burnham, 29, and their 1-year-old daughter, Alessi Ren.
He tells fans,
Lauren has been really sweet. She’s keeping me fed. She just slides some food outside and then I go get it.
The retired racecar driver went on to share a clip of Burnham and his daughter seated on the other side of a large patio table, with the caption,
Thanksgiving 2020 has been different.
In the meantime, Burnham posted on her Instagram stating she is “thankful for family.”

Sharing a selfie with her daughter, she captioned:
@ariejr would be in this pic too, but he has covid so kisses & pics through windows only for now. lol hope you guys are having a great thanksgiving! xo.
On Friday, Luyendyk Jr. announced an update while waiting in line for the coronavirus test, labeling the massive line as “insane.”
Still waiting… rapid tests are really hard to come by here (everyone is out of them) Had to go to an independent lab which charges $125. They do 300 tests a day and run through them before lunch.
This year was a tough one for the couple who revealed in May Burnham had lost a child after discovering they were expecting their second baby.
In a YouTube video uploaded back in June, Burnham said:
It has been a tough time for us. It’s been a tough time for everybody … in the world, obviously. There’s been a lot happening.
In July, Burnham announced she received a diamond ring from her spouse as a sign of resilience through the dark times.
She wrote on Instagram:
This eternity band symbolizes that we will always have each other in our darkest times.
She added, “If you’ve been here for the last couple of months you’ll know that we recently had a period of that.”
