'Friends' Star Lisa Kudrow is Set to Star in New Disney+ Musical

Lisa Kudrow has landed a new role in an upcoming Disney+ musical Better Nate Than Ever following the successful Friends: The Reunion on HBO Max.

Lisa Kudrow, who starred in Friends, has landed a role in the Disney+ musical Better Nate Than Ever.

According to Deadline, filming for this adaptation of Tim Federle‘s novel is already underway in New York. The story follows a juvenile lad from Pittsburgh who, after being snubbed for their school musical, slips off with his best mate Libby to a huge audition.

Kudrow is set to play Nate‘s long-lost aunt Heidi, who assists him in realizing his Broadway goals, however, she is not expected to provide her vocal in the movie.

Kudrow recently appeared in the HBO Max special Friends: The Reunion with former castmates and fellow TV heavyweights Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Courteney Cox.

The Phoebe Buffay actress delivered a performance of her character’s popular song ‘Smelly Cat’ with Lady Gaga, however, there was a hitch prior to shooting.

She revealed,

I realized I had to learn ‘Smelly Cat’ again. And, I tuned my guitar and then realized I don’t know the chords, but I Googled it. All the chords were there!

Kudrow added,

Yeah, so, thank you world for posting the chords. So, I learned it and then my throat closed. I was so panicked, I couldn’t get anything out. I didn’t know what was going to happen! But it worked out.

Friends: The Reunion dropped on HBO Max on 27th May 2021.
