Yes, you hear it right! Hip Hop star J.Cole announces the release date of his new album “The Off-Season” on May 14th – the 14th Anniversary of his Mixtape Debut. 

It’s been years since J. Cole dropped his 5th Studio album “KOD” which abbreviation stands for “Kids on Drugs”, “King Overdose”, and “Kill Our Demons”. The album was released on April 20, 2019, by Dreamville, Roc Nation, Interscope.

Regarding the new release, Cole tweeted “Is this thing on,” the rapper wrote on Twitter, teasing fans with the possibilities of what he would say next. Moments later, he confirmed the news: a new album was coming. “Just know this was years in the making,” he Tweeted.

Talking exclusively to Variety, the Power Trip hitmaker shared that it took his years to come up with The Off-Season. And if you been following the rapper then you might hear two songs “The Climb Back” and “Lion King on Ice” which the rapper back in July 2020 shared was from his forthcoming album “The Fall Off”. And suddenly after four-month, he announced on Instagram that it was not included on the album.

The new album will be released from his co-founded label Dreamville Records which is an imprint of Interscope. Dreamville is a multi-disciplinary media company that will also produce film, music, live events, and apparel. So we surely are excited to see what Cole comes up with this time.

And about the album’s success, Cole never misses to hit the no.1 spot as all of his released studio albums so far have peaked top chart in the United States. Now that’s the style and quality of the platinum hit singers.

Cole’s first studio album Cole World: The Sideline Story was released on September 27, 2011, from Roc Nation, Columbia. Similarly, the 36 years old rapper released his second album, Born Sinner, on June 18, 2013, from Dreamville label. As king never misses their shot, the album also reached the no.1 spot in US Charts.

Subsequently, he released his third Studio album Forest Hills Drive on December 9, 2014, from Dreamville Roc Nation which as always peaked no 1 at Us in the category of R&B/HH and US Rap. Matter of fact, it was the American rapper’s shortest hemisphere as he released the album after one and a half years.

Then the ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’ hitmaker released his 4th Studio album 4 Your Eyez Only which as usual peaked at the top 1 on the U.S chart. By then rappers were sure that Cole is here to make history. And amidst his album hits the rapper was also releasing features with leading artists like Drake, 21 Savage, Royce da 5’9”, Travis, and more.

His latest album KOD was released on April 20, 2018, from Dreamville, Roc Nation, and Interscope. Needless to say, the 5th Studio Album also peaked at the number one spot and US HipHop/ R&B.
