The Umbrella Academy has been breaking records and generating massive interest since the show’s inception on Netflix, over two years ago. Two apocalypse, time travel, and some funny moments, in each season later, we are awaiting the arrival of The Umbrella Academy season 3 and the cast is not ready to deal with their more than alive father and The Sparrow Academy.

Based on the Dark Horse Comic series of the same name, The Umbrella Academy was written by Gerard Way with Steve Blackman creating the show for Netflix. The series followed a group of kids who were born on the same day and are adopted by Reginald Hargreeves who realizes the kids are powered and uses his time and money training them to become a team of superheroes.

But as adults the kids go off doing their own things, starting life, or ruining it, depending on the attention or love they got from their ‘father.’ When their father dies, the kids come together for the funeral and their long lost brother comes back talking about apocalypse and the end of world. As the show has progressed, the brothers and sisters reunite, revealing family secrets and terrifying powers. Similar trend is progressing into The Umbrella Academy season 3 as the heroes get the time travel blues and meet The Sparrow Academy.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 – Uncertain Future for the Hargreeves Family

Time Travel is a tricky thing and they have their own explanations depending on the show or TV show you are watching. But one similar thread is common in almost al time travel stories, messing with the past changes the present. So, when a group of sibling try to prevent an apocalypse, they have less of a leeway to be careful, and all their mess has followed the Hargreeves to the present timeline.

As the briefcase brought back the team to their correct time, a new world awaited The Umbrella Academy. While the Moon is still intact and the Earth has not exploded, the revelation made by the Hargreeves kids, in the past, to the man who would become their father, in the present, changed their own history.

Reginald learned of the amazing and powered kids from his own kids but when he learns of Vanya almost bringing the world to an end, that probably deterred father Hargreeves from picking those 6 kids. He instead formed a new group and named them The Sparrow Academy and Reginald turned out to be alive as well.

So, the mess they created in the past, resulted in a change in their present. The time travel blues was in effect for the six kids who were shocked to find themselves replaced in their own home. Now the three leading actors of The Umbrella Academy season 3 are talking about the uncertain future that awaits for each and every character.

Elliot Page, who plays Vanya, said, “Well, I feel like I was surprised often, ‘cos one of the delightful things about the show is as we read the scripts, a lot of things are unknown to us. So I feel like there’s always delightful surprises.” While the actor was cryptic about season 3, other stars of the show were a little more forthcoming.

Luther actor Tom Hopper was a little forthcoming, saying, “We all know each other so well now, and we know the characters so well – and we know each others’ characters so well – there’s a real ease in our scenes with each other. It’s just becoming more and more fun to do, and the words on the page are great already, you know?”

And Allison actress Emmy Raver-Lampman rounded out the thought process when she explained all of the cast did not know where the story is headed in The Umbrella Academy season 3. She claimed, “like the first time, being in it and filming and not knowing what the end goal is. It’s great, I’m here for it.”

The future is unclear for Hargreeves family in The Umbrella Academy season 3. But one thing is clear, the Netflix series is currently filming and there is no release date yet.
