When will the Netflix film Malcolm & Marie be released?
You might as well forget the second season of Euphoria and the third installment of Spider-Man for a moment because Zendaya‘s got another project to be enthusiastic about – the upcoming Netflix movie Malcolm & Marie.
Malcolm & Marie – filmed on a black-and-white 35mm – confirmed its release date, announcing that Zendaya and John David Washington-led relationship will be hitting the screens on 5th February 2021.
The streaming platform revealed the news on its official Twitter, along with a seductive picture of the couple, writing:
Malcolm & Marie – a cinematic ode to the great Hollywood romances from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson starring Zendaya & John David Washington – will premiere February 5, 2021, on Netflix!
Described as “lush, witty, and achingly beautiful” Malcolm & Marie is the pet project of Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson, who emerged with the storyline merely six days after Zendaya initially brought forward the concept.

The film, which was shot during the lockdown earlier in 2020 is reported to carry some shades of the 2019 drama film Marriage Story.
Following the announcement of the project, details of the confidential set dynamics were disclosed, with Levinson apparently seeking permission from medical professionals and lawyers to ensure the essential on-site specifications were fulfilled.
Throughout the two weeks of shooting (per Deadline), nobody was allowed to leave the premises in California while the Malcolm & Marie cast and crew took the right precautions and wore proper masks whenever possible.
Social distancing steps were also taken, and everyone ate stuff served by the chef at specified locations.
