Adepero Oduye Showers Appreciation for Fans After Making Strong Debut in 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier'

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Adepero Oduye is full of praise towards fans after making an impressive debut in the new Disney+ show.

In a recent social media post, Adepero Oduye, the latest star of the new Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, expressed her gratitude to her fans.

In the MCU show, she plays Sarah Wilson, Sam Wilson‘s (Anthony Mackie) sibling. Since its release last week, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been a big hit for the network.

There were lots of alternatives for viewers to choose from, but Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes‘ (Sebastian Stan) fun adventure is now at the pinnacle of the streaming giant’s ladder.

Entertainment Tonight spoke with the actress about her involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She admitted she still struggles to believe she’s really a part of one of the biggest franchises in the world.

Oduye recalled,

I was in this theater in Nigeria, surrounded by people, and just completely enthralled. I always had that little dream like, ‘Maybe one day…’ When you’re young — but maybe not so young — just watching the energy behind these movies, thinking, ‘Oh, it’d be so cool to be a part of that kind of project.’

When the talk turned to Anthony Mackie, Adepero was all praise for the Falcon star. She started,

I love him. I love working with him. He’s so generous, so on point, giving, and as an actor working with another actor, it just means everything.

The 33-year-old continued,

Because, you know, he’s Anthony Mackie. He’s been around doing it wonderfully for a very long time! I’ve known Anthony from before, but to get to work with him in that space, he’s carrying so much. For him to be just generous and kind and funny, it just added to the amazingness of this experience.

In the middle of all the action-drama, she certainly feels like the narrative with Sam and Sarah back home, where they experienced childhood together, is at the core.

Their bond is deep, solid, truthful, and genuine, according to her. So, in those times where things aren’t quite going well, they can give it to each other, whatever it may be.

The actress adds there’s always the chance of a return for the duo. Always and forever, love is at the heart. That’s something they’re really adamant about.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier airs Fridays on Disney+.
