Daniel Craig Doesn't Want a Woman to Play James Bond

Daniel Craig is not fond of a woman playing the character of James Bond. The actor reckons there should simply be better parts for women and actors of color.

There has been much discussion about who should portray the next James Bond, with some fans advocating for a woman to take the role.

Daniel Craig, on the other hand, does not believe a lady should play the legendary character. The 53-year-old actor, who will play James Bond for one last time in No Time to Die (2021), wants to see females in iconic roles.

Daniel told Radio Times,

There should simply be better parts for women and actors of lour. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?

Barbara Broccoli, the franchise producer, made a similar remark in 2019.

She said on Good Morning Britain,

We have to make movies about women and women’s stories but we have to create female characters and not just for a gimmick turn a male character into a woman.

No Time to Die hits theatres on 8th October 2021.
