Cruella star Emma Stone is reportedly considering suing Disney following in the footsteps of the Black Widow star Scarlet Johansson.
Emma Stone is apparently thinking about following Scarlett Johansson‘s lead. The 32-year-old Cruella star is pondering suing Disney over the release of her latest film on their streaming platform, according to Screen Rant on 30th July.
Back in May, the film debuted together in theaters and on Disney+, as did Black Widow more lately.
Scarlett Johansson launched a complaint against Disney, claiming that the dual release violated her contract because her compensation is based on the film’s box office statistics, which she claimed were impacted by the debut of Disney+.

Ex-THR Editor Matt Belloni reported in his What I’m Hearing… newsletter that Emma Stone, actress of Cruella, is also contemplating suing. He wrote:
Emma Stone, star of Cruella, is said to be weighing her options.
Belloni added Disney is notoriously difficult to deal with in these circumstances.
He also stated that Scarlett has received an outpouring of solidarity from fellow creatives and that this issue is not going away anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Disney has issued a statement in which they criticize Scarlett’s move to sue them and disclose that she has already received $20 million for her role in the film.
As per Variety, Disney said in a statement:
There is no merit whatsoever to this filing. The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Disney also stated that it has cooperated fully with Ms. Johansson’s deal and that the premiere of Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access has considerably increased her ability to collect extra money on top of the $20 million she has already earned.
