‘General Hospital’ Star Kirsten Storms Had Surgery to Remove Noncancerous Cyst

General Hospital star Kirsten Storms is currently recovering after undergoing surgery to extract a noncancerous cyst.

After having brain surgery this week, soap starlet Kirsten Storms stated she is on the road to recovery. On Friday, the General Hospital actress shared a photo on Instagram of herself wearing a neck brace while riding home with her friend Emme Rylan, who is also an actor.

Storms revealed in her Instagram Story,

So, [I’ve] not really spoken about this much or at all actually. Less than 48 hours ago I had brain surgery hence the neck brace. It was on the lower portion of my brain. Emme is taking care of me until I get to my at-home nurse. It’s been an interesting last couple of days.

The 37-year-old wrote over the video,

Sorry for the shock you guys.

According to the actress, the procedure was performed to eliminate a noncancerous cyst.

She continued,

What they had to drain and remove was not cancer. I want to clarify that right now before the Internet goes crazy wild with rumors about this. I had a very large cyst that had split into two and the doctors said it was so full the pressure was very noticeable when they opened up my skull. That sounds so weird. So I will be on the mend for the next several weeks but I will be back at work once this is over with.

Storms seemed to be in high spirits, as she and Rylan laughed about how she is still a major knitter and hopes to knit stuff during her rehab.

Storms added,

Let’s see if I can speak a foreign language now. Maybe I can learn things.

She also made it clear that Rylan, who was behind the wheel, would not be driving her home right after the operation.

She continued,

I had the surgery a couple days ago, so yes, I was in the hospital for a few days. We’re not taking me home right after brain surgery.

The Disney Channel alum went on to say that she is feeling “like s&&t.” She wanted to be excused for her profanity, but she (jokingly) felt like she’d earned it then. Subsequently, the Zenon star thanked Rylan for looking after her.
