Kaley Cuoco admits she cried herself to sleep because she was extremely worried that her new show ‘The Flight Attendant’ may not be loved by fans.
The popular Penny actress from The Big Bang Theory followed over a decade of priceless experience in the immensely successful CBS sitcom with a brand new adventure at The Flight Attendant on HBO Max.
The new comedy-drama, adapted from Chris Bohjalian‘s 2018 novel of the same name, revolves around an enigmatic death and one of the top TV actresses, Kaley Cuoco, performing the role of an intoxicated air hostess.

You would be forgiven for thinking the entire concept and the star quality of Cuoco would inevitably make the show too huge to fail, but the actress confessed she was so concerned about it that she struggled to sleep.
Speaking to Radio Times, the 35-year-old said:
Coming off such a successful show, I knew people were going to judge this and question my decision. It wouldn’t have mattered what choice I had made, it was going to be – not looked down upon, but questioned.
The Cassie Bowden star added,
I also early on really decided in my heart that I could not compare anything to Big Bang, and that released me because Big Bang was so specific and special… We can’t compare anything to that.
She continued,
But I went through a lot of ups and [downs] – there were days where I’m like, ‘Oh man, people are gonna love this’ and then there were days where I would literally cry myself to sleep, wishing I had never ever found the book.
It was, in fact, Cuoco’s production company that acquired the rights to the source material of The Flight Attendant, since the actress was certain that nobody would have cast her for the part, even if she delivered the greatest audition ever.

Kaley Cuoco – who is set to lead as the legendary Dorris Day in the new limited series – explained,
It was a risk that I’m glad that I took. But yeah, I was pretty sick to my stomach the night before the show aired just because, you know, it was my baby. I started this thing so long ago. You want everyone to like your baby, it sucks when they don’t like your baby.
Not only were critic reviews for the drama impressive, but it did exceptionally well to earn a second season, so we’d say the risk was definitely worth taking.
The Flight Attendant season one is streaming on HBO Max.
