Lili Reinhart reveals why she was initially hesitant to come out as a bisexual woman.
Lili Reinhart is opening up about her decision to let the world know she is a bisexual woman.
During a new interview with Flaunt magazine, the Riverdale star explained she’s always been aware of her romantic attraction to women. In fact, friends and relatives close to her always knew this as well.
“I knew full well that I was attracted to women from a young age,” Reinhart admitted. “I felt that since I’ve exclusively been in hetero-normative relationships, it would be too easy for any outsider, especially the media, to vilify me and accuse me of faking it to get attention.”
“That’s not something I wanted to deal with. But to my close friends and those in my life, my bisexuality has been no secret,” the 23-year-old added.
The actress previously took to her Instagram Story in June, stating she would be attending a Black Lives Matter protest in Los Angeles, California, that was intended for LGBTQ community members who stood united with the anti-racism movement.
“Although I’ve never announced it publicly before, I am a proud bisexual woman,” Reinhart wrote. “And I will be joining this protest today. Come join.”

While some fans lauded Reinhart for coming out as bisexual, she was also at the end of criticisms for coming out at a period when the entire focus is on the Black Lives Matter community.
“It was incredible to be surrounded by so many people who are actively fighting against the injustices that are happening right now,” the actress recalled of standing in solidarity and protesting with her fellow LGBTQ members. “Enough is enough, and hopefully, we’ll see real change from the actions that are now being taken,” she noted.
Reinhart also stated she feels she was not doing enough, so she needed to do more than just repeat what everybody else was posting.
“So I asked myself: ‘Okay, what do I have to offer?’ I definitely learned a lot from the conversations I’ve been having,” she shared.

Lili reckons while it’s necessary to form an alliance in this revolution, black perspectives can not be blurred by other voices. This is the time to be taken seriously, so white folks need to open their eyes towards their incredible privilege, which exists and is pretty legitimate.
It’s important that we don’t just sit on our asses and let someone else fight this fight for us because it involves absolutely everyone,” Reinhart concluded.

The actress, meanwhile, was most recently involved in a romantic relationship with her Riverdale co-star Cole Sprouse. Back in May 2020, however, PEOPLE seemingly confirmed the duo who plays the on-screen romantic pair – Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones in the CW show – had split.
The couple was first linked together back in July 2017 and initially broke up for the first time in July 2019, before they reignited their relationship two months later.
