Julie and the Phantoms Season 2 - Everything We Know So Far!

Jan 12, 2021 @ 17:48 GMT+0000

Julie and the Phantoms was the feel good and sway with show of 2020. In a year that had little to no happiness this magical show on Netflix won over millions of hearts and caused many to repeat view that sub-25 minute 9-episode show. But even after four months Julie and the Phantoms season 2 renewal in nowhere to be seen.

The first season of Julie and the Phantoms was based on a Brazilian series and followed Julie as she begins to see three teenage ghosts. Soon, the phantoms realize they can be seen by all when they play music with Julie which results in the four of them starting a band called Julie and the Phantoms.

There is an incomplete event from their past they need to finish to pass from the land of the living, so Julie tries to help them. The show was a massive success along with the music from the band, but even after success in different medium Netflix is yet to green light Julie and the Phantoms season 2, and here is everything we know so far.

Julie and the Phantoms Season 2 - Netflix is Teasing Fans on YouTube

The first season of Julie and the Phantoms was released on 10 September 2020 on Netflix. Fans were quick to gobble up the three hour long 9-episode show and by the end of the weekend calls for Julie and the Phantoms season 2 was growing on social media.

Four months later and the calls for Netflix to announce Julie and the Phantoms season 2 has not died down. Still there is not even a single word coming from the streaming platform only a month long tease on YouTube.

So, instead of announcing the sophomore season of the hit teen series, Netflix decided to release songs from the show on their official YouTube channel. Ever since 16 December 2020 all the songs from the show are showing up one by one on YouTube.

The music from the show was a massive success. There are more than 1 million listeners on Spotify listening to the cast. Almost all the songs have more than 10 million streams and the same is the case with the YouTube videos Netflix is teasing fans with.

Maybe Netflix is trying to continue the hype and conversation around the show by keeping the content from the series relevant. It is working but we suspect a big game is afoot here, Netflix is probably teeing up a news on season 2 and it is pure agony to sit through all this speculation and tease (we need Julie and the Phantoms season 2 here already)!

Julie and the Phantoms Season 2 is Not Greenlit But One of the Producers Think It will be Better than Season 1

The first season of Julie and the Phantoms was a massive surprise. For those not familiar with the Brazilian show, this was a breath of fresh year and you can be sure the show will be renewed for a second season. Still, for those scared Netflix might cancel the show, one of the producers of the show was confident about the prospective season 2.

Shawn Williamson is one of the producers in the Netflix show and he spoke about the possibility of season 2 and what fans can expect from the show. He went so far as to say that the second season of Julie and the Phantoms was going to be better than the firs season.

In a small talk with Cinema Blend, the producer said, "So they’ve certainly set them up well for success on the next season. And Dan [Cross] and Dave [Hoge] as the showrunners were spectacular. And I know that the second season would be as good or better than the first."

Fans are both nervous and hopeful about Julie and the Phantoms season 2. Netflix is miking this whole situation for a little too long but don't worry people we will all get to she the band sing on the stage again.
