Is Karen Gillan's Nebula Joining Thor: Love and Thunder

Will we be seeing Karen Gillan’s character Nebula in Thor: Love and Thunder?

Karen Gillan‘s Nebula plays a role in a similar breath to that of Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki in the Thor franchise in the MCU‘s Guardians of the Galaxy films.

Regularly involved in a rivalry with sister Gamora (Zoe Saldana), and determined to make herself deserving of the love of her father, Thanos, she was as likely to attempt to kill her sibling as she was to save her.

Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) look to have positioned her strongly on the superhero’s side of the spectrum for the coming years, but there is no concrete proof that the 33-year-old will be taking part in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).

For sure, this is barely a strange development, given that we have known for months the Guardians will be turning up at Thor’s solo outing, and it would signify that Nebula will be a permanent fixture of the squad moving forward.

Gillan is yet to be confirmed for the cast, but even so, neither have the rest of the interstellar delinquents with the exception of Chris Pratt‘s Star-Lord, and they’re all going to be along for the ride.

Meanwhile, the Jumanji actress has been uploading images on social media that make it evident that she’s in Australia right now, where Love and Thunder filming is scheduled to begin fairly soon, apparently affirming that she’s involved.

And besides, the Guardians of the Galaxy were revealed for the project months ago, so it doesn’t seem like much of a coincidence that the actress playing Nebula in James Gunn‘s series just happens to be present in the same setting as Thor: Love and Thunder‘s filming location right before the start of shooting, especially when summering on the other side of the globe during the COVID-19 pandemic isn’t the brightest of ideas.
