God of Mischief, Loki, never does as he is told or rules set out for him. That is why Wednesdays are the new Fridays as the upcoming Marvel show on Disney Plus breaks the mold of Friday releases. The six-episode first season starring Tom Hiddleston will be available for streaming two days earlier than the original release date of 11 June.

Loki is the third MCU series to arrive on the streaming platform exclusive to Disney, Fox and National Geographic content. The show was set for a little earlier release but filming, that began in January of 2020, had to shut down due to COVID. After picking up the filming process in September, the series went into post production in December.

After delays and initial ridicule for the design of the logo for the show, the first teaser has really made an intriguing case for Loki. With fan excitement at an all time high, Tom Hiddleston appeared on video to delivery some good news for the fans, bringing the release date for the show two days earlier. Also, there is already work being done on Loki season 2, so get all the details.

Video Released by Disney Plus Shows Tom Hiddleston Announcing New Release Date for Loki

A clip released by Disney Plus showed somewhat similar affair or Marvel of clip releases. Signifiers of various characters and a music swell but that was all put to stop by Loki actor Tom Hiddleston. Thor’s brother is not one to do things the conventional way so when he appeared on screen to put forth some grievances, we were in for a ride.

The actor began, “Uh… Hi? Hu, hello, it’s me. Um, it’s Tom. Look, um, I’m sorry to interrupt… It’s just, I, um, I’ve noticed that in these long superhero montages, Loki tends to get, you know, a bit left out. Even though, arguably, he’s incredibly heroic, himself. You know, cunning… Charming… I could go on, but maybe, why don’t I just prove it to you?”

Then Tom explained that Wednesdays are the new Fridays as the release date for Loki changed on screen, counting down from 11 to 9 June. Well, for those excited to see the show, you will now only have to wait for two days less. Also, we are due another trailer so keep your eyes peeled for that. There are still 5 weeks between now and the release of the show, so a lengthy trailer to build on the past teaser is a given.

When the series was announced in 2018, most suspected it was just going to be Loki jumping around in time. But the trailer has thrown as wrinkle at the whole process. Introduction of shady organization trying to recruit Loki and a conspiracy brewing, the Disney Plus show looks like a massive fun. The show has also been described as a time hopping, heist series so we are expecting great things.

Loki Season 2 Already in the Works with Working Title Architect

We are still five weeks away from the premiere of Loki on Disney Plus. The first season featuring the beloved Avengers and Thor character will have 6 episodes, similar to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But unlike TFTWS there is no doubt regarding the future of the yet to be released series featuring Tom Hiddleston.

Loki is already listed to be having a second season that will begin production in 2022. Production report confirmed Loki season 2, currently working under the title Architect will begin production next year. So, do not fear for the god of mischief, he will not be dying a brutal death in season 1. But again, when has death stopped the adopted Asgardian son anyway.

Loki season 1 will premiere on 9 June 2021, the remaining five episodes will be released on Wednesdays of each subsequent weeks.
